Peachland retaining wall builders

Retaining Walls in Peachland

Peachland has some of the steepest residential lots in the Okanagan. We build retaining walls that turn those slopes into usable yard, protect your house from runoff and keep the lake view front and centre.

Steep-lot builds

Hillside walls are our everyday work, not the exception.

Straight answers

If your wall needs a permit or an engineer, we tell you before you sign anything.

Workmanship warranty

If something we built fails because of our installation, we make it right.

Building on Peachland’s hillsides

From the neighbourhoods climbing above Highway 97 to Trepanier and the upper benches, a lot of Peachland yards are more slope than yard. Heavy rain and spring melt come straight down those grades, and whatever sits at the bottom, including your house, takes the runoff.

On grades like these, a wall is only as good as what’s under and behind it. We dig to stable ground, compact a proper base and build in drainage before a single block goes down.

Wall options

Retaining wall options for steep Peachland lots

Built for the grade, the soil and the view.

Tiered wall systems

Two or three shorter walls instead of one tall one: stronger, often simpler to permit and better looking.

Allan Block walls

Our most popular wall for residential slopes. Clean lines and a range of colours to match your home.

Poured concrete walls

For tall cuts, driveways and walls right against the house. We do our own forming.

Timber landscape walls

Lower walls for gardens and paths with a softer, natural finish.

View-friendly terraces

Level areas for a patio or lawn, laid out so you don’t lose the lake view.

Driveway & parking walls

Steep driveways often need a wall to hold the cut. We build them for vehicle loads.

Our approach

Why we often recommend tiered walls in Peachland

One tall wall has to hold back everything above it, which usually means engineering, a permit and a lot of material. Splitting the height into two or three tiers spreads that load out.

You also get planting beds between levels, softer lines from the street and more usable flat space. On a steep lake-view lot, it’s often both the better wall and the better yard.

Tiered walls

  • Less load on each wall
  • Room to plant between levels
  • Often simpler to permit

One taller wall

  • Takes up less yard space
  • Best for tight cuts next to a house or driveway
  • Usually poured concrete or engineered block

FAQ

Building on a Peachland slope? Start here.

Answers to the questions we hear most from steep-lot owners.

On steep Peachland lots, often yes. Tiers spread the load, add planting space and can avoid the extra engineering a single tall wall may need.

More excavation, harder access and extra drainage all add labour. A site visit lets us give you a real number instead of a guess.

Yes, as long as it’s built with drainage. Drain rock and perforated pipe behind the wall collect water and send it where it should go.

Taller walls and walls carrying a load, like a driveway or building, usually do. We’ll tell you at the quote stage and help arrange it.

Most walls take a few days to a couple of weeks, depending on height, length and how much digging the slope needs.

Absolutely. Terraced walls leave level beds between the tiers for shrubs, perennials or even a vegetable garden.
